1. What Data We Collect

Account information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.

Book and author data: Author profiles, book metadata, manuscripts, cover images, contracts, and royalty records that you upload or create within the Service.

Usage analytics: Pages visited, features used, and general interaction patterns to help us improve the product. We do not track individual keystrokes or content you write.

2. How We Use Your Data

Provide the Service: Your data is used to operate PublisherKit — managing authors, tracking royalties, organizing catalogs, and generating reports.

Improve the product: Aggregated, anonymized usage data helps us understand which features are most valuable and where to invest development effort.

Communicate with you: We may send transactional emails (account confirmations, royalty statements) and occasional product updates. You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored on Convex cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. File uploads (manuscripts, cover images) are stored in Convex file storage. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data.

4. Third Parties

We share data with a limited set of third-party services necessary to operate PublisherKit:

PostHog — Product analytics. Collects anonymized usage events to help us improve the product.

Stripe — Payment processing. Handles billing securely. We never store your full credit card number.

Vercel — Hosting. Serves the PublisherKit web application.

Sentry — Error tracking. Captures application errors to help us fix bugs quickly.

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not share your book or author data with anyone outside the services listed above.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your account, we keep your data available for export for 30 days, after which it is permanently deleted. Anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

6. Your Rights

Export: You can export all your data (authors, books, royalties, contracts) at any time via CSV export from your dashboard.

Delete: You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.

Correct: You can update your account information and book data at any time through the Service.
